DREAM MAIL

Your dream isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you work for. One brave decision at a time.

Simon Squibb - What’s Your Dream?

There’s a tax you’re paying right now.

But it’s not financial.

It’s cognitive. Emotional. Energetic.

It’s the “Unaligned Life Tax.”

And if you’re not careful, you’ll end up paying this tax every day for the rest of your life.

But you can dodge it…

 1. Create a “Dream Budget”

For just 7 days, track every pound you spend on convenience.

Takeaways, subscriptions, video games, Ubers.

Then ask yourself - What could be cut? What could be redirected towards your dream?

Next: calculate your real monthly cost of living. Your bare minimum.

Subtract that from your monthly income… and save the rest.

Your Dream Runway = (Money you earn – Money you actually need) × 3 months

Once you’ve saved 3 months of runway… you’re ready to quit.

And look, if it doesn’t work out you can always get another job. But at least you’ll know that you gave it your all.

2. Build a “Minimum Viable Dream”

You don’t need money yet. You need proof and practice.

Pick one of these based on your dream:

If you want to…

Try this:

Start a product business

Launch a free waitlist page with a Typeform or Beehiv.

Sell a service or skill

Offer it for free to 3 people in a Facebook or WhatsApp group.

Teach or share knowledge

Film 1 video and post it on TikTok.

Build an app

Use Loveable to describe your idea and generate it. (Code SIMON20NL for 20% off)

Write or coach

Create 1 Google Doc with your framework and share it.

Don’t overthink this. It’s not meant to be perfect.

Just make something real that someone else can interact with. Then offer it to people for free. If you don’t enjoy it without being paid. It’s not the right dream for you.

3. Reinvest Energy

The system trains you to rest with Netflix. But that doesn’t restore you. It numbs you.

For the next 7 days, live as normal but note down everything you do. When you scroll social media, watch TV, eat, visit friends. Everything.

Then, copy and paste that schedule. But every time you do something unproductive, replace it for something that is.

What if you used your downtime to learn something real?

Example: One dreamer swapped 1 hour a day of scrolling TikTok for 1 hour on Loveable.

4 days later, she had her first app live. (Code SIMON20NL for 20% off)

It really is that easy.

The tax never stops. But you can start getting returns.

If you keep waiting for “more time” or “the right moment,”

You’ll wake up in 10 years, still paying the price of inaction.

But if you start now, even 1% a day. The compounding effect is life-changing.

What’s the cost of staying still for another year? And what can you build with just 1 hour a day?

When you have a dream, and when you have identified a purpose, it changes your life. Everything starts to make sense because you are no longer playing by someone else’s rules.

When I sold my company I was depressed.

I tried golf. I tried video games. I bought a big house.

But I just felt empty.

It almost felt like my life was finished.

And that’s when I realised….

I’d lost my purpose.

My life was easy. I was living “the dream”.

But it was more like a nightmare.

When someone has a purpose they walk different. Talk different. Think different.

I’ve never worked so hard than I do right now.

But I wouldn’t change it for the world.

People hate hard work because they hate what they’re working hard on.

When you have a purpose, when you have found your reason for being born…

Work is enjoyable.

You’ll stop dragging yourself out of bed and stop checking the time for when your day ends…

You’ll stop working for money because you’ll realise there are far more important things.

Finding your purpose won’t remove your obstacles.

But it’ll give you the reason to keep going.
