One person will receive $100,000

Welcome to DreamMail, a newsletter where you can keep up to date with the dreamers you see in my content, as well as actionable advice to help you build your own dream.

If you’re enjoying these updates, Amazon has just made my book ‘What’s Your Dream?’ £5.49. The cheapest price EVER.

$100,000.

What could you do with that?

You could open that restaurant you've always wanted?

Maybe quit that job you hate and go all in on what you love?

You could even travel the world and go all in on your travel influencer journey.

Well, today it could be possible.

Stan just launched their "Dare to Dream" challenge, where one dreamer will win $100K and 5 runners-up win $10K each.

This competition isn't exclusive to my community…

But I really want one of you to win.

So I'm going to give you some advice and tips that no one else is giving to their community, so that your entry is the best there is.

Firstly, here's how to enter:

  1. Sign up for Stanley (free trial) by January 31st.

  2. Use Stanley to help you record a video about how winning would transform your life

  3. Post it on a public Instagram or TikTok account and tag @StanForCreators, use #StanDareToDream26

  4. Fill out their form

That's it. Simple right?

But let's be honest… Thousands of people will enter. I mean, who doesn't want $100K?

But the difference from you and most is that you’ll maximise your chances to win. If you follow my advice, I can almost guarantee you'll already be ahead of 90% of entries.

So let's stand out.

HOW TO CREATE A VIDEO THAT WINS

Stan said it themselves: "Authenticity matters more than production quality."

That's good news. It means you don't need fancy equipment or crazy editing skills to win. You just have to show them why it matters.

1. Lead with your pain.

The most powerful stories come from the hardest moments. What's the thing that drives you? What happened to you that made you want to build this dream?

Don't be vague. Be specific.

"I want to help people" is forgettable. "I was homeless at 15 and I never want anyone to feel as helpless as I did" is unforgettable.

Your pain is your power. Use it.

And look, maybe it's not your pain. But you can talk about someone else's pain and how passionate you feel about solving it.

Not "I want to save turtles from eating rubbish" but "In 60 years we will have no more turtles in our oceans. It's on humanity to change this and I feel a duty to play my part."

2. Make it about others, not you.

Yes, you want the money. Don't we all. But why? What will you do with it? Who will you help and how?

You need a plan. It sounds brutal, but I want you to win so I have to say it. Stan probably won't give $100K to someone with a premature dream.

Last year's winner, Joel, used his winnings to build Creative Minds. This became a community hosting retreats to combat loneliness among creators. He didn't talk about buying a car. He talked about solving a problem for people.

The judges want to fund someone who has a clear plan to create change.

3. Be specific about your dream.

"I want to start a business" means nothing. "I want to launch a mobile dog grooming van so I can bring care to elderly pet owners who can't travel" means everything.

The more specific you are, the more real it feels. The more real it feels, the more they believe you'll actually do it.

4. Keep it under 2 minutes.

That’s the rule. But it also doesn’t mean you have to fill the full 2 minutes. Be snappy, clear, and concise. If you can nail the points I've given you and clearly explain your dream, purpose, plan, and pain in less time… that’s even better. Less is more.

5. Don't overthink production.

Film on your phone. Natural light. Look into the camera, not the screen. Speak like you're talking to a friend. It's not a job interview.

If you try to make it "professional," you'll make it boring. Positive energy wins.

THE STRUCTURE

This is the structure you should use for all your social media clips. This competition is no exception.

0-5 seconds: Hook them. Start with your pain or a bold statement about your dream. Something that instantly captures intrigue. Try to have something moving. Static hooks don't perform anywhere near as well as dynamic ones. Whether it's your hands doing something or you're walking to a different location. Make sure you’re moving.

5-60 seconds: Tell your story. Plan it out beforehand like it's a mini movie. You have action at the start. Then a problem that needs to be fixed. Followed by your plan to fix it.

Make sure you answer these questions: What happened to you? Why does this matter? Who will you help? What will you do with the money? Be specific and paint the picture.

Last 10 seconds: End with conviction. "This is my dream. And I'm going to make it happen."

Once you've recorded it, show it to a few people. At the end, ask them all the questions above. Can they answer them? If not, you need to be clearer.
